and i’m back

Slight interruption in programming, due to popping the little one out of the oven and learning to function on 3-hour sleep intervals. Now, back in action:

  • Right after Christmas, we picked up my showroom samples. I wonder, realistically, which of these plaids I’ll actually be able to get enough yardage of for production.
  • Took photos (on a not-sunny-enough-day) to put up as a preview on the Half Dot website (to be built by the husband).
  • Had an epiphany moment (when we were in the zipcar after a pediatrician visit, on the way to pick up some Japanese bentos for lunch) that instead of a plain old logo label, there should be an embroidered Half Dot patch (with the funny daschund image) sewn onto each coat (and found a company that makes embroidered patches right over in New Jersey).
  • Now trying to calculate wholesale pricing and conservative order estimates so I’ll have an idea of how much yardage I’ll need to order for production.
  • Wondering about children’s apparel sales reps. This one-person gig is fine for the design stage, but for getting the coats into the market, I might some professional help!
