looking ahead to season two

Season one is currently in production. There was a minor hiccup (well, it was quite major when it happened). My entire set of markers were misdelivered en route to the factory (so funny that I had just been saying how reliable UPS is and then they lose my stuff). But thanks to the marvels of modern technology my grading company was able to e-mail the entire set of digital files over to be printed out at the factory so all has been resolved. Production samples should be arriving soon.

Webshop construction is under way. We’re trying to make this as pleasant and simple of a shopping experience as possible.

season2

Designs for the new season are also rolling out. Many of my peers have decided to sit out for a season or two in response to the slow economy and the astronomical costs that the CPSIA requirements will incur come February 2010. I’m reluctant to take a season off, at the same time I do think its a good idea not to go ahead with sourcing materials for 2010 until we know exactly what is going on with the regulations. As for the slow economy, I do have my share of worries but I’m willing to march ahead, keeping things at a very small and practical scale.  There’s an article in the New York Times where Diane Von Furstenberg talks about how to stay afloat during economic ups and downs. Definitely some words of wisdom worth remembering.
